After completing degrees in economics and law, Andrew Maiden served as policy advisor, press secretary and chief-of-staff to senior Australian political figures including the federal Minister for Finance.
In 2000 he joined Australia’s largest telecom and media company, Telstra, and over time headed the group’s public affairs, media relations, sustainability and corporate reputation functions before leaving to consult for large enterprises. In these roles Andrew led communications, regulatory and government relations initiatives in professional services, health, arts, legal services and other sectors.
In 2013 Andrew joined the broadcasting sector as chief executive of ASTRA, the peak body representing subscription television platforms and global media companies.
