Andrew Maiden is an executive experienced in public policy, advocacy and communications.

After completing degrees in economics and law, Andrew served as an advisor, press secretary and chief-of-staff to senior Australian political figures including the federal Minister for Finance.

In 2000 he joined the private sector, leading a regulatory team before heading group communications for Australia’s national telecom, Telstra. In this role he oversaw public affairs, media relations, employee communications, corporate responsibility and reputation for the ASX10 company, leading 100 team members across Australia and Asia.

In 2013 Andrew joined the media sector as chief executive of ASTRA, the peak body for subscription television in Australia. In this role he worked closely with the CEOs of large media companies, senior political figures, regulators and the media, achieving the most significant regulatory reform in the industry’s history.

Andrew now advises CEOs, boards and senior executives on political, regulatory and reputation risk. He works in multiple sectors including aviation, media, resources, sport, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, professional services and the arts.

He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
